Women's March Iowa is a 100% Volunteered Lead Organization

sandy mostaert - president/Founder  She was part of the original leaders of the development of both national and Iowa's efforts to organize the largest single-day demonstration in recorded U.S. history on January 21, 2017. She has over 20 years of professional leadership, along with organizing over 50 events for numerous causes, women leadership and social reform. She has received statewide and national awards for her services, including the 2017 ACLU Louise Noun Award, along with running a consulting business, MozzDesigns, specializing in marketing and business development in nonprofit, healthcare, franchise, manufacturing, women start-up businesses since 2000. She continues her next chapter in her career in starting, investing and developing the nonprofit organization Women's March Iowa and co-founding the nationwide Women's March network. Her drive is to make sure that her daughters will have a better future and less obsticles that she herself and the women before have.

Marisa Miakonda Cummings - Advisory co-Chair  Member of the Omaha Tribe and belong to the Buffalo Tail Clan of the Sky People. Lives in Sioux City, IA and graduated at the University of Iowa. Raising four children: Lauren 24, Brianna 18, Darius 17, and Nia 13. Her passion lies in preservation of her people’s traditional culture and protection and preservation of sacred sites. Known for her community activist and educator, but feels most fulfilled by working within our indigenous communities to continue our traditional teachings and way of life. Her professional occupation is working with a Campus Project through the Office of Violence Against Women.

Monica reyes - advisory co-chair

Co-founder of DREAM Iowa, a immigrant rights advocate organization that helps inform DREAMers of laws affecting them at the time, challenging and representing undocumented immigrants in lobbying efforts to our legislatures.  She is a DACA recipient from Waterloo, graduate from University of Northern Iowa and has a current career working in the financial industry.
